About the Artists
Woodworth's Woodworks & Crafts is operated by husband and wife team Russell & Denise Woodworth and is located in the lower level of their home in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Salem, SC. Russell has lived with undiagnosed and untreated ADHD all his life. He has always struggled at school and at work, unfinished homework and less than acceptable production since he was a child. In his work shop he is in his element, sometimes focused, sometimes... not so much. As a result his products are not the "cookie cutter" results you would expect from a factory, but he can guarantee each piece is unique, each one with it's own character. Denise has only been a crafter for a few years. She started out with painting plaster figurines and Christmas village pieces, but now that she has a new hobby (photography) she has been inspired to follow her Father-In-Law's hobby of painting copies of her favorite photos onto canvas. For each of them it is a "work-in-progress" but they truly enjoy the time they spend together, at home or outdoors. Their work is all "one-of-a-kind"! "We thank God for each other and ask that he blesses our work shop tremendously, and we hope that we can continue to grow our hobby into a successful business and please God with our new found talents and skills in a way that we can put a smile on someone's face". Denise & Russ are inspired by the talents of Russ' dad Perry. They are both carrying on some of the work that Perry did: Denise with her love for painting her photography, and Russ with picture frame making and other woodworking skills that Perry taught Russ when he was a boy. "We both love you and miss you Dad!"
